Tuberculosis Prevention Week
Period: From September 24 to September 30
Tuberculosis is an infectious disease and approximately 10,000 persons are diagnosed annually in Japan. In the region managed by Toyokawa Public Health Center (Toyokawa city, Gamagori city, Tahara city), newly 19 cases of tuberculosis were found in 2023. About 20 % of these patients were born abroad and the disease occurred among persons in their prime.
The symptoms of Tuberculosis in its early stage are very similar to those of cold. In case of the symptoms such as cough lasting 2 weeks or longer, phlegm, fever, sudden weight loss, loss of appetite etc., please wear a mask and take consultation at medical institution at your earliest convenience. In addition, please take periodical health checkup every year.
